Winner of the Oakley Sunglasses
Is any one else tired from the Olympics? Not of the Games–I could watch the world’s strongest, fastest, most agile, most graceful, most powerful athletes compete every hour of every day–but from the Games. And there lies the problem: It means I’ve been staying up almost every night until 11 or 11:30. Even with the coverage on DVR, Jack and I (and I admit, sometimes the kids!) stay up until the last race or game of the evening. It makes my 5:30 alarm that much more painful when it shrieks to wake me up for 1 mile warm-up, 4 x 1-mile tempo with 1/4-mile rest, 1 mile cool down. Or boot camp. So a part of me is so sad this weekend is Closing Ceremony, but my more pragmatic side knows it’s for the best.
In fact, I’ve been so groggy while viewing, it took me several sets of beach volleyball to realize that Kerry Walsh Jennings was sporting white versions of the same glasses we are giving away on our site, the Oakley Commit SQ.
We know how those shades helped Kerry be a winner (3x–woo-hoo!), so let me tell you who is a winner of the pink pair from our Hump Day Giveaway, as well as the odd site she saw on a recent run:
Paula Lanier: “Running 6 on a country road …I saw about 15 buzzards perched in a tree. I am assuming they were waiting for me to keel over!”
Paula, to claim your sporty shades, please email us your mailing address at runmother [at] gmail [dot] com. Sorry to all you ladies who didn’t win. I hope watching the final weekend of the London Games consoles you a bit.
