Best recent run: A short and sweet 3-miler outside in the (slightly) cooler temps. Nothing special to it, but just one of those enjoyable mornings.

Best day of the week to exercise: Monday. I love kicking off the week with a solid workout and it sets up the rest of the week for success.

If I were to change one thing about my recent racing…I probably would have made the decision to hold off from running any longer distances in races for longer after my injury than I did. Although running along the Pacific coastline during the 10.6 mile race at Big Sur may have made it all worth it.

Worst running-related injury, and how did you cope?I have been plagued with a pretty bad case of posterior tibialis tendonitis that just won’t quit. I struggled a lot at first with the effects it had on my race training and having to give up PR goals in races. I coped by allowing myself to enjoy many other types of fitness I love. When my injury kept coming back after a certain distance, I decided to “own my distance” and have found new joy in shorter runs and races purely for the fun of them again.

Best part of being a personal trainer: I do my personal training all online through a group fitness community – Best Body Bootcamp.

The community aspect of that group and the way all the women work together to tackle new workouts, make progress, and reach new goals inspires ME daily. And I’m supposed to be the trainer! I most love witnessing that – the newfound or re-ignited love for fitness and being allowed into these women’s achievements, both big and small. It’s pretty amazing to experience.
