Forums: Connect with Another Mother Runner

A huge, sweaty welcome to the another mother runner forums, an exclusive but inclusive—that makes sense, right?—place to connect, chat, ask, analyze, and dream big with other runners. The beauty of this running forum is that, unlike our Facebook page, the status updates don’t float by in less than a day. Here they are, accessible whenever you need the 411.

Anything is game here: questions about training, nutrition, sports bras, leaking on the run, whatever. Two categories we think are pretty cool: a match.com for mother runners, where you can find a BRF (best running friend) and free gear swap, a place to find a home for your newish gear you never use. (The recipient pays only for shipping; thank you in advance for respecting this rule.)

So whatever you've got—IT band problems; stroller questions; a picture-perfect race; shoe issues—lay it on the collective us. If you'd like to nominate a category we forgot, email us at runmother [at] gmail [dot] com. We're all here to push each other across the finish line again and again.

Hi all - I'm in Southern MA - about a half hour from Providence - so after work isn't really a viable option for me. But would love a few weekend runs... of course, I can't this weekend LOL - but maybe we can put something together.

I'm a pretty slow runner working towards my first 10K... so if you don't mind slowing down a notch, I'd love to meet up!

Pretty slow here too, but would love to run with you!

When is your 10k? I can meet up with you as long as I have sitting. Let me know when you want some company.

We are finally getting settled in Rhode Island! Is anyone who commented earlier still around and looking for someone to run with? I'm in North Kingstown and my daughter goes to school just over the line in Narragansett, so during the day in those areas would be good for me.

I ran the Providence RnR Half Marathon and this weekend we're running the Get to the Point five-miler in Pt. Judith as a family. We're starting off at our daughter's pace then putting her in the stroller when she gets tired. Two of my aunts are walking it so will be starting with us as well.

I just moved to South Kingston a month ago. I am a slower runner (11-12 min mile) but would love to meet up for some longer runs on Saturday mornings if anyone is interested. I am training for the Cape Cod HM at the end of October, using the 13.FUN run/walk plan. Currently at 9 miles with 9 min run 2 min walk. I would still like to keep up the longer runs after the Half Marathon.
