Forums: Connect with Another Mother Runner

A huge, sweaty welcome to the another mother runner forums, an exclusive but inclusive—that makes sense, right?—place to connect, chat, ask, analyze, and dream big with other runners. The beauty of this running forum is that, unlike our Facebook page, the status updates don’t float by in less than a day. Here they are, accessible whenever you need the 411.

Anything is game here: questions about training, nutrition, sports bras, leaking on the run, whatever. Two categories we think are pretty cool: a match.com for mother runners, where you can find a BRF (best running friend) and free gear swap, a place to find a home for your newish gear you never use. (The recipient pays only for shipping; thank you in advance for respecting this rule.)

So whatever you've got—IT band problems; stroller questions; a picture-perfect race; shoe issues—lay it on the collective us. If you'd like to nominate a category we forgot, email us at runmother [at] gmail [dot] com. We're all here to push each other across the finish line again and again.

I have been wearing some C9 bras from Target (which I have always loved) but over the last two months or so I have been getting chafing under the band in front ( of course right where there is no meat) I am a 34B/32C, so I don't need much, but I do like light padding to avoid "headlights". I have tried running skirts, but the shirred bottoms irritate me even earlier than the Target ones...Same thing with cotton old navy bras, so I guess I am ready to pony up for avoidance of chafing as my poor chest was rubbed raw and ended up scabbing over after a half this past weekend! (talk about a painful shower post run! 😕 ) Help!! Has anyone run longer in the handful bras? I have one that is a little too tight (got on sale)that I wear for TRX,etc, but never for running...I hate to spend an arm and a leg on a bra, as I will want at least three to cycle through, but the memory of my chest burn is still pretty fresh! Thanks!

Besides the choosing of a bra, something I've done to deal with chaffing is using KT tape. If you know right were you'll get some chaffing along the band, put a piece of tape on that spot. Not the perfect solution, but I've found it to be very helpful.

have you tried putting a little Body Glide where you are chafing? I get intermittent chafing in a couple spots from my bra, but never when I remember to use the Glide.
