THE AMR TEAM

FOUNDERS + AUTHORS

DIMITY

CALL HER:

Dim-ih-tee. (No extra “r” in there please: She’s not a Russian man.)

SPECIALIZES IN:

Leading by example with her wit, wisdom, candor, and ability to return from (numerous) running injuries.

BRIEF BIO:

A Co-Mother-Runner-in-Chief around these parts plus ringleader of Train Like a Mother Club, Dimity runs for her mind as much as her body. To her, a race is just one big sweaty party with like-minded friends. Oversees two kids + one dog in Denver, CO.

SARAH

CALL HER:

SBS. (Champy also works)

SPECIALIZES IN:

Chatting up folks on Another Mother Runner Podcast, and (over)sharing TMI topics on social media.

BRIEF BIO:

A Co-Mother-Runner-in-Chief around these parts, SBS runs to be outdoors, even in Pacific NW liquid sunshine. Ever an optimist, she always finds a pride-inducing nugget in every run—and often discovers #foundchange along the way! Her family includes boy/girl twins + one daughter + one cat in Portland, OR.

SUPPORT

KATIE

CALL HER:

Katie Sne-vice (her last name is actually spelled S-Z-N-E-W-A-J-S)

SPECIALIZES IN:

Creating unique partnerships with our beloved sponsors and making sure all of the details are squared away in a nice, neat spreadsheet.

BRIEF BIO:

After having 3 girls in just over 3 years, Katie and her husband ditched their small NYC apartment to relocate to Denver in 2013. Katie started her own marketing firm in 2015 and loves helping small businesses grow. Diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2016 at the age of 38, Katie just received the all-clear from her doctor. She is now training for her first half-marathon with inspiration from the AMR Tribe and following a TLAM Club plan, natch.

MAGGIE

CALL HER:

If you need some sass + smarts

SPECIALIZES IN:

Growing and supporting AMR’s social media channels to better serve this amazing community.

BRIEF BIO:

Maggie has owned and operated her own consulting firm in Portland, OR, since 2009, helping dozens of companies and other entrepreneurs grow their online and offline presence through media relations and social media. Like many of us moms, she seeks balance and sanity through solitary long runs and cuddles with her kiddos.

ADRIENNE

CALL HER:

If you’re having coffee.

SPECIALIZES IN:

Creating (hopefully) interesting/fun/inspirational stories on AMR website. And providing witty honesty from the middle-back-to-back-back of the pack in her bi-weekly column.

BRIEF BIO:

A non-runner for the first 40 years of her life, Adrienne surprised herself and fell in love with the sport. And just like love, the relationship has had some ups and some downs but she’s in it for the long haul. In 2016, she ran a little race you might have heard of called New York City Marathon; she insists she is one-and-done with the 26.2-mile distance. Lives with two kids + one corgi in Oneonta, NY.

JESSICA

CALL HER:

Jess

SPECIALIZES IN:

Tasks other people find boring, and helping make nice neat piles out of messy ones!

BRIEF BIO:

Mom of two, wife of one in Portland, OR. When she’s not out running her ass off (the 70 pounds she lost a few years ago keep trying to find their way back), you’ll find her hanging out at home, cooking, knitting, or sharing a book with her kids.

CONTRIBUTORS

ALEX

CALL HER:

Him. Or the Podcast Guy. Anything but Her.

SPECIALIZES IN:

Broadcasting, basketball, backpacking, and board games.

BRIEF BIO:

Alex started producing the AMR podcast in early fall 2013. He’s been an audio producer since 2011 and works for several shows around the Portland area. He also coaches middle-school basketball and lives with his girlfriend and a neurotic cat named Fenriz.
