dimity cda 1Created by: Dimity

“Here’s a list from Train Like a Mother of my favorite motivational songs ever. Or at least while we were writing TLAM.”

Walkin’ On Sunshine: Katrina & The Waves (I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the love that’s really real.)
Breathe: Collective Soul
Let It Will Be: Madonna
Closer to Fine: Indigo Girls
Slight Figure of Speech: The Avett Brothers (a good beat and creative lyrics: two of my fave things)
Brighter Than the Sun: Colbie Caillat
Little Bird: Annie Lennox (Go tall women! Go little birds!)
Bad Romance: Lady Gaga
Club Can’t Handle Me: Flo Rida ft. David Guetta
Let the Rain: Sara Bareilles
Take a Chance on Me: ABBA
The Distance: Cake
Roll Away Your Stone: Mumford & Sons
Alex Chilton: The Replacements
Happy Girl: Martina McBride (I always think of Amelia, my daughter, when this plays.)
Good Things: BoDeans
Accidentally in Love: Counting Crows
Praise You: Fatboy Slim
If You’re Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows): Rodney Atkins (could be my motto: If you’re going through hell, keep on going. Don’t slow down. )
Talk Me Down: Gets The Girl
Whip Smart: Liz Phair
Mary’s Place: Bruce Springsteen
See These Bones: Nada Surf
Dog Days Are Over: Florence + The Machine (Run fast for your mother. Damn straight, Flo.)
Don’t Stop Believing: Glee Cast (yes, cheese, but I defy you to not sing along)

Great info and straight to the point. I am not sure if this is actually the best place to ask but do you
people have any ideea where to hire some professional writers?

    Thank you :)

  2. great post, very informative. I wonder why the other experts of this sector do not notice this.
You should continue your writing. I’m sure, you have a great readers’ base already!

  3. Dee says:

bought the songs from here that I didn’t have already and enjoyed the best run of my life with them yesterday. Thanks! Looking forward to a great run tomorrow with my new playlist.

  4. rachel blazer says:

old school indigo girls are on every good running playlist i make… : )

  5. Rachel DeRusha says:

Dimity: I needed this today! Thank you! I’m in the midst of a Lupus diagnosis & my fear of not being able to continue running for many years has been a bit overwhelming. ‘But who am I to tell fate where it’s supposed to go with it’ – Colbie Caillat

I’ve created the playlist on Spotify: http://goo.gl/wGMpS….NOTE: I went with the Journey version of “Don’t Stop Believing” because I love their old school version. But any AMR can easily switch it if they want to for their own list. ;-)

  6. Margie says:

As a runner, blogger, and fan of everything you all do, I have to say: you have the lyrics backward! I went to the doctor, I went to the mountain… That way mountain and fountain rhyme. (I love the Indigo Girls as much as I love running…)

  7. Jill says:

Closer to Fine. Number one, all time, run an extra mile just to listen to it, favorite. This is a totally fab list.
