Train Like a Mother: Spring 10Ks, Half-Marathons, Marathons Programs Served Up!

Welcome back to Round II of What's happening in the Train Like a Mother Club for the next few months...glad you're joining us!

Yesterday, we dished out triathlons, Ultras, and 5K Success, Today, we're going more of the meat + potatoes—but very tasty, fulfilliing, awesome meat + potatoes—with 10K, half-marathon and marathon programs.

Train Like a Mother 10K Programs

10K Run: This 12-week plan is ideal someone tackling a 10K for the first time, coming back from injury or pregnancy, or wanting to run a strong effort on 10K race day and cross the finish line with a smile on her face.

10K Race: This aggressive12-week plan offers straight-up runs; hills to increase your leg strength; and have multiple doses of tempo runs, 800’s, and other speed-builders so you can mentally and physically let it rip on race day.

Dates: February 13-June 24/25
(There are 8, 12-week waves; the waves coordinate with race-date weekends of May 6/7 through June 24/25.)

13.1: Run/Walk: A 15-week plan is ideal for a range of athletes: walkers looking to morph into runners; running neophytes testing their wings at a half-marathon for the first time; mothers who get injured more than six-year-olds whine; and anybody who prefers to mix running and walking when they’re on the road.

13.1: Run: A 15-week plan perfect for a wide range of women, from 10Kers looking to step up to new distance to marathoners dialing back on distance.

13.1: Race: A 15-week, challenging plan whose focus is on blazing a path to a personal record in the half-marathon.

These 20-week programs are heavy on instruction and interaction with Coach MK, who holds weekly office hours and offers up advice on nearly weekly podcasts, so that you can solidly understand and thrive in heart rate-based training.

AMAZING: Focused on easy effort runs, that builds a wide cardiovascular base and teaches you to run by heart rate.

EXCELLENT: Blends both endurance building and harder efforts so you can learn to feel different efforts and paces.

SUPER EXCELLENTMore hard than easy, this aggressive plan will bring out the super excellent in you.
