After many fun weekends at race expos with Dimity, I'm headed to Bend, Oregon, this weekend with some different traveling companions: my family. They are joining me in the charming high desert town for the Happy Girls Half-Marathon, a fun, well-organized all-women's race. (We can't get enough of 'em!) We went last year, met by less-than-spring-like weather: It snowed on me at the expo. I hadn't brought nearly enough duds, so I piled on every piece of workout wear I brought with me. I looked like a jock en route to a race, trying to avoid paying the airline baggage fees.
This year, the forecast calls for highs in the mid-60's, but I'm preparing for every weather eventuality. Lucky for me, lucy Activewear is one of our partners, so I have my pick of bottoms--from a sassy, leg-baring skirt to incredibly slimming yoga pants. Splitting the difference are cute knee pants. On top, over one of our new tank tops, I'll wear a camouflage-my-belly Lucy jacket.
One of you gals--the winner of our lucy trifecta giveaway--can also sport her own lucy ensemble. A Speedy Run Top II, Open Road Jacket, and the Endurance Skirt (like mine). To enter, you had to tell us what trio you are workin' in your life. And the randomly chosen winner--and her on-the-move response--is:
Elle Smith: "3rd full marathon, 3rd sprint triathalon, 3rd century bike ride, all in the next month. Wow, I will be busy!"
Elle, to claim your prize, please email us at runmother [at] gmail [dot] com, letting us know your mailing address and apparel sizes for top and bottom (XS-XL).
Happy holiday weekend, mother runners. I hope to see some of you in person in Bend--under sunny skies.
