A second set of eyes is always a good thing. whether you’re polishing up a work project or wondering if your living room should actually be painted orange.

Your running form is no exception. In fact, except for race pictures, you rarely see yourself running. While you can feel balanced and strong on the run, your body’s subtle movements, which a seasoned coach can see, may be telling a different story.

If your right hip drops with every step, or your posture is too upright, or your arms are spaghetti-like, you may be setting yourself up for an inefficient run (at best) or a serious injury (at worst).

  • After you register, you’ll receive a detailed email, including a short questionnaire and information on how to properly film a running video so the coaches can see you from all angles.
  • You email the video + short questionnaire to the coaches, and set up a time for a 30-minute phone call with one of them to discuss your running and form fixes.
  • After your discussion, you’ll receive another email with up to five things to work on, including drills + form focus points.
  • You spend about five weeks working on those points; ideally, during this time, you are able to run at least three times a week.
  • Five weeks later, you email the coaches with a new video, and they’ll reply to you with additional feedback.

We’ve enlisted an amazing pair of coaches—Jennifer Harrison and Elizabeth Waterstraat who oversee the Heart + Sole and Triathlon programs—to be your expert second set of eyes. With video you shoot from your phone, the pair, who has over 40 years of combined coaching experience, will analyze your form, diagnosing any injury red flags and offering suggestions to increase efficiency and speed. They’ll guide you with specific drills designed especially for your situation.
