Interested in Running a Road Ultra?
Running longer than marathon distance–or going ultra—is a pretty massive commitment. Not only does your body need to be ready to handle all.the.miles during training and race day, you need to be mentally prepared to keep moving forward through crazy highs and lows.
Although many ultras are on trails (another commitment: time commuting to and from the trail), road ultras are becoming more popular. And for good reason: road ultras are the most accessible way of going ultra.
That's especially true with 3 Days at the Fair (3DATF), a race in Augusta, New Jersey in Mid-May. During 3DATF, runners stay on a one-mile loop; whether you've opted for the 12- or 24-hour race, your supplies, sleeping bag and cheering section are never far away!
The Train Like a Mother Club is in the process of creating a comprehensive, expert-led road ultra training program designed for 3DATF or any repeating loop road ultra.
The 30-week program will be focused on completing 50 miles/running 12 hours, but can be adapted for other race options. (Whether you want to run back-to-back marathons or run for 100+ straight miles, there are myriad options at 3DATF).
In early October 2018, we will be opening registration for the the Train Like a Mother Road Ultra Program so runners can join the 30-week program to prepare for 3DATF (May 13-19, 2019)—or any road ultra thereafter.
