On Facebook Thursday morning, we asked a simple question: skirt or shorts? Even as an early skirt-adopter, I was amazed skirts beat out shorts by more than 2-to-1 margin.
Well, call me a trend-bucker, as I've recently instigated my own meme: #ShortsSaturday. When my training plans calls for 8 miles or less on a Saturday, I sport shorts instead of a skirt. My reason being: I'm loving some pairs of Saucony running shorts I received as part of the Saucony 26Strong program. I've had a long-time love of patterned bottoms (my favorite pants as a preschooler were berry-colored cords festooned with flowers), so the Saucony Impulse Print Short was a gimme. (As in, "Gimme, Saucony!") The 4" inseam is perfect--short enough to accommodate my stride, yet long enough to be decent for a 40-something mom. The snazzy print works with a wide range of tops from the Saucony Premium Tech Tank to a Saucony 26.2 Milestone Short Sleeve and, well, our badass mother runner tank (just sayin'...).

One mother runner who will be sporting shorts a bit more often, also thanks to Saucony, is the winner of last week's giveaway--a pair of Impulse Print Shorts + Premium Tech Tank. That winner, plus how she deals with workout wear, post-run, is:
Nikki F.: "I hang dry the wet, sweaty stuff then wash with a big scoop of Oxi Clean and then hang dry again. I feel like using the dryer seals in the stank. When my clean padded sports bras smell like BO before I run, that means it’s time for the pre-wash vinegar solution soak."
