This week, Portland has been doing its dang-good imitation of Denver and other bright, cloud-free climes. And with our far-north latitude, it is light here from about 5:00 a.m. until nearly 10 p.m. So I've been putting my Smith Optics sunglasses through their paces--and then some: On runs. On carpool duty. On after-dinner strolls with kids. On jaunts to the library (to peruse options for our upcoming 2nd annual Summer Reading podcast!). Even while working in our podcast producers' office, which has several skylights.
I know I'll be sporting them as I cover 10 miles this morning, with half-mile bursts of tempo at Miles 3, 6, and 8, and again tomorrow when I do a lunge series prior to knocking out seven miles. Ending Week 1 of marathon training with a bang--and some sunny miles.

One mother runner who will have new protection for her eyes, courtesy of a pair of Smith Pivlock V2 Max glasess--in pink, no less!--is:
Lauren Maleski: "Everyday. Everywhere. I live in FL and the sun is brutal evwn when it isn’t shining. I wear mine om all my runs and strolling the kids to the park."
Lauren, please email us (runmother [at] gmail [dot] com) your mailing address. Everyone else: Many fair-weather miles to you!
