In-Person Events

Grand Traverse: 10, 17, 21, 24 Mile Hike or Trail Run

Event date: October 4, 2025
Event location: Duluth, MN
Registration opens: March 10

What: A great day with AMR teammates for a a hike or trail run distance of your choice. (We love that there are so many choices: a fit for nearly everybody!) We’ll train virtually in our own backyards using the comprehensive training programs, then, on October 4, we’ll meet in person in lovely Duluth to hike or trail run part of the Superior Hiking Trail. Led by Coach Dimity and Coach Christy, this training program will include virtual team meetings and an exclusive Grand Traverse AMR shirt.

Better Together: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon

Race date: November 2, 2025
Race location: City of Oaks Marathon, Raleigh, NC
Opens for registration: March 10

What: A team effort in Raleigh! Whether you’re running the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or Marathon, you’ll be surrounded by AMR teammates and plenty of support. We’ll train virtually under the guidance of coaches Jess + Amy, then on November 2, we’ll gather at the City of Oaks to run the distance of your choice. During training, we’ll connect runners in the same category (running first marathon; going for a PR in the half; run/walkers in the half; etc.). This training program will include virtual team meetings, as well as sessions with a sport nutritionist.

AMR Retreat: Lake Placid

Event date: September 5-8, 2025
Event location: High Peaks Resort, Lake Placid, NY

What: Nestled in majestic Adirondack Park, the steeped-in-Olympic-lore village of Lake Placid is where we’ll convene in late summer. The crowds will be gone, but the weather is ideal for all sorts of outdoor adventures—running, hiking, lake swimming, SUP’ing, kayaking, and more. Lake Placid has a charming, walkable downtown—where our retreat host hotel is located—yet you’re never far from nature. Whether you want to learn running guidance and advice from experts; run and/or hike; swim in or paddle on Mirror Lake; enjoy a yoga session or two; be part of a podcast recording; croon karaoke at the farewell celebration; or befriend other women runners, you will be delighted by the extended-weekend offerings.

Virtual Programs

Go the Distance: 8-Week Training Program

Program dates: February 24-April 20
Registration opens: February 5

What: An eight-week long training program focused on Zone 2 cardio (or aerobic endurance), culminating in a weekend of challenging yourself with an endurance activity of your choice. You choose the activity (run, run/walk, walk, hike, bike, swim, etc.); the distance (any length you can complete in <1 hour); and the duration (6, 12, or 24 hours).

You start one round of the activity at the top of every hour. For example, you could bike 8 miles every hour for 6 hours, completing 48 miles total. Or you could run/walk 2.5 miles every hour for 12 miles, completing 30 miles total.

Fall into Fitness: 6-Week Program

Dates: September 8-October 19, 2025
Registration opens: August 20

What: Every workout in this six-week virtual program integrates the three key pieces of complete fitness: cardio, strength, and mobility. Some days focus on a run (or walk or other cardio workout), chased with a strength “snack.” Others prioritize strength, and finish with a cardio “snack.” We’ll being each session with mobility moves to get your body functioning properly.

We’ll have plenty of fun along the way, of course, with contests and random challenges to keep the momentum rolling.
