You read her written race report, now hear Dimity describe her journey through a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, and 13.1-mile run in Grand Junction last weekend. This Ironmother takes you from the churning water to the stool in the transition area to her aerobars on her beloved bike, Lyle, then out onto the windswept out-and-back of the run. (Oh, yeah, with a stop in the port-a-potty for good measure.) Dimity gets a bit tearful at the end of the podcast, but she emerges like she did from the triathlon: stronger than ever.
If you’re digging our podcasts, we’d be super-grateful if you’d take a minute (because we *know* you have so many to spare!) to write a review on iTunes.

Thank you Sarah for making Dimity take a moment and celebrate/realize how HER work made this race come together for her. So awesome to watch/listen as someone becomes the person she’s always admired (loved the bit about seeing your reflection during the race, ah tears of joy!!)
Don’t forget to mention in one of the upcoming podcasts that everyone can watch the Ironman LIVE through ironmanlive.com They can get on and check when she’s past certain checkpoints and see all her splits and once the first pros come across the finish line there is constant video of the finish all the way to midnight… !
Dimity,
I loved listening to your race report. I listened to the podcast while on the treadmill at lunch and I actually laughed out loud when you said that you tried PRETZELS as nutrition. Have you ever seen the Seinfeld episode where they say “These pretzels are making me thirsty”?
Here is a compilation clip- made me think of you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRaLpHoZA8E
Great job at your half Ironman! Seriously, YOU are an inspiration!
Dimity (and SBS!!!)- thank you for your podcast! I’m going to be running (I don’t know what they call it) my first 70.3 on Sunday, June 2nd at Rev3 Quassy and I needed to hear your race report. I’m poop your pants nervous and have been following just a “to finish” training plan. Just listening to your awesome race report just encourages me to believe that I CAN DO IT – I just have to find the strength. I’ve even been smiling through my fear and pain because you both suggested it – and you know what….it works!!!
I listened to this today, and got choked up when Sarah was talking about how Dimity really did all of this…it wasn’t the day that lined up perfectly…it was the training and hard work.
I couldn’t agree more.
As we say, “Kol Ha Kavod” “all the honor (strength)”
you go girl, you’re the epitome of a BAMR
Ok, it has to be said…I hate Taylor Swift music. There, I said it, LOL.
