Did you catch our podcast on prehab and injury prevention? Dimity and Sarah were joined by Amanda Johnson, the marketing manager at TriggerPoint Performance Therapy (a.k.a. the company that makes the brilliant GRID foam roller), who explains the benefits of therapeutic self-care, such as foam rolling. The ladies talk about empowerment and the power of taking care of the body from the ground up, to both avoid and overcome injury. (If you haven’t had a chance to listen, check it out here.)
Because you can never give too much attention to prehab and post-run recovery, we’re following up with a TriggerPoint Therapy giveaway!
SBS makes rolling a regular part of her routine, waking up 5 to 10 minutes early just to roll. Here morning schedule: “My daily date with a TriggerPoint Therapy GRID 2.0 starts by lying supine on it with the firm roller vertical under my spine. Then I shift it horizontal so its knobby “fingers” can release the kinks in various parts of my back. I then focus on my lower body. It’s not a pretty pose, but I position the GRID horizontally under my hip flexor while I bend my other leg off to the side so I can roll a small range of motion, working deeply into the front of my hip (basically the crease between my torso and leg). If my Achilles has been tightening up on me, I also roll it—or I spend a minute or two rolling my overworked glutes. I stand up, feeling looser and more ‘at ease’ in my body, ready for whatever workout is on tap for the day.”
Now you need to get rolling! Two winners will each get one of the new TriggerPoint balls, plus a TriggerPoint Therapy tool of her choice. Choose from a kit, a roller, an STK, winners’ choice! To enter, tell us what part of your body needs some TriggerPoint love. Could be your fire-you-up-the-hills quads, your stooped-from-breastfeeding-sessions shoulders, or your cramped-from-high-heels calves. Tell us in the Comments section below this blog post on our website, and you’ll be entered to win.
The details: This running giveaway sweepstakes is open to those over 18 and residents of the United States and Canada. Shoulders and hamstrings are needing some loving
I should roll every inch of my body. After a vicious 2 year injury cycle, everything hurts!
Calves – but I don’t wear heels, no idea why they’re so tight lately. And always my glutes. (I’m sure many more parts of me would benefit, but those two are tied for first place in the “I hear you already” contest.)
Mainly calves, but my hips really need work also. Have never used a ball before, but I love to foam roll. I can see where a ball. Would be better to hit the right spot.
Always my glutes followed by my hip flexors.
My IT bands, they are tighter than new rubber bands.
My calves and bottoms of my feet! It seems like I’m always rotating injury zones…and those are the main trouble spots!
My hams and lower back could use some help
Always my piriformis and glutes. :/
My “glutapotamus” -aka my glutes & quads
My calves always seem to need the most love. Knotted and tight, I’m always rolling them!!
My piriformis ALWAYS and lately my shoulders! And hips….and calves…..and….
My back. I should work on carrying my squirmy sack of potatoes better!
My whole back, hamstrings, and IT bands need lots of love.
My calves, upper back, and bottoms of my feet feel like they need daily care. Lately my right hip is also asking for attention.
Oh my goodness, everything! I’ve been in NY this week and have averaged 14 miles of walking each day, plus marathon training!
Calves and hip flexors!
Training for October marathon. My IT band could use some attention
Oh the calves!!
My training-for-my-first-half-marathon IT bands.
I feel my IT band could use some tigger point love for sure.
My glutes, definitely!
Definitely the hips!!
Boy oh boy, where do I start?… ITBs, hammies, calves, back, and booty, for sure!
My tush and my calves! They’re just awful lately.
My quads and glutes need some TLC as I train for my second 50K!
Letsee….my hip flexors have been akin to “cranky teething toddlers who’ve given up on naps”, my left IT band has been crabtastic for years, and my calves are like “compression socks lady? You funny! We’re tighter than a duck’s derriere!”. Pretty much anything from my hips on down need some Trigger Point love!
My quads and shoulders
My feet and calves!
My glutes and piriformis. I’m doing 16 races this year and my body is starting to get really tight. :)
Quads always!
Calves, baby!!
I have the basic TP roller and use it daily. I would love to try some of the other products…starting at my feet and ending at my neck.
Hamstrings!
Calves, it’s always the calves that tighten up for me.
Just one? I’ll have to go with those tight calves.
After my last long run (18 mile) I could use some hip flexor help! This weekend we have 20!
Confession: I’ve never rolled before! I run and core-strengthen 4-7 days a week and could really use to focus on recovery. Taking the time to roll out my calves and glutes would make for more productive workouts!
Arse!!! Hips too but it is fun to yell ARSE!
I’d give extra attention to the IT band at the hip! Ouch that always hurts but is necessary for my body’s TLC requirements!
I’m having an ongoing fight with my calves. They definitely could use some love.
IT band for sure!
The “bone saw” shin roll has made a huge difference. But my lower back and hunched-over-my-desk shoulders always need some love too.
Calves!! Thanks to hilly neighborhood runs!
Hips! Always my dang hips!
Quads, definitely!
It’s my hips that get hit with my roller (the GRID 2.0 like Sarah’s) most often. My calves are tight but they would be happier with an STK but don’t have one of those yet.
My calves seem to hate me lately!
My left calf – always feels like something has taken a “bite” and just continues to gnaw all day long!
That area between my calf and ankle. Not sure what is going in but I need it to stop aching.
As mom of a newborn, my upper and lower back is constantly hunched inwards. I would love to roll it out!!!!
My screaming IT band that makes sitting still for any length of time very difficult.
When I suffered from ITB injury in 2015 a fellow runner told me to “make nice with your foam roller”, so I have made sure to!
My whole right side is a mess, leading down to some fun PF.
Seriously? Every part of me – 56 years young and between running and crossfit, my whole body is tight and sore, but probably the most inflexible due to tightness would be the hamstrings and the shoulders and the hip flexors….see that about covers the whole body….lol!
My calves!!!! Lots of time plodding up hills these days. :)
I’m rolling my right hip, glutes, and Itband daily – with an assist from my husband because my PT wants me to roll those parts daily, but she doesn’t want me using body weight on my foam roller just now. Working miracles!
With Pikes Peak marathon less than two weeks away, pretty much every part of me needs some love from all the training. Left calf/Achilles and foot have taken the brunt of it all, for some reason.
My hip flexors – ow! Hurts just thinking about them!
My shoulders are full of knots from running with water vest and working at computer all day!
Between running and teenager-induced stress, what isn’t cramped and tight? TriggerPoint, take me away!
Always my calves!
IT Band – help me, please!!
My quads could definitely use some love.
My IT band could definitely use some love!
My too tight calves and stressed out shoulders could use some relief!
My calves up to my glutes need some TLC! The hills, heat, and humidity have been killer!
My Hammies! They need some serious love!
Calves and hips!
I would say it is a toss up between my quads and gluteus Maximus and minimum on any given day. But lately is has been my whole lower body
Calves and hammies, for sure!
Training is hard on this old body and everything hurts and needs some TLC… or rather, TriggerPoint Therapy. From my shoulders to my feet, help me TriggerPoint!
Glutes and hamstrings.
My calves right now could you use Trigger Point love. I was training for my fall marathon and just dropped down to the half due to calf problems. My sore mommy feet wouldn’t mind the massage balls too.
My feet and calves could use some TriggerPoint love for sure!
my whole body needs some TriggerPoint Love
My plantar fasciitis ridden feet and achin’ hip!
Right now it is my calves and hips. But that changes weekly!
I can barely touch my thighs (IT bands) with a feather…maybe some serious rolling will help (?)
Lately, I’ve had kinks in my back that needed a good roll. With TLAM, I’ve rolled at least weekly and I’ve seen the benefits.
I have some hips that could use some trigger point therapy/love!
My thoracic spine needs some Trigger Point. So difficult to be able to get just the right spot to alleviate the chronic achiness
calves and IT band
I’m sure everything from the hips down will definitely be in need when I get out of this darn boot!
IT Band and lower back roll the pain right away
Been working my glutes on the BOSU and the stairs at Coach MK’s behest; I always need some trigger point action in the ol’ butt cave!
I could totally use this on my lower back and hamstrings. Apparently I carry big babies and this 2nd pregnancy is no different my lower back is feeling it and while I’m still able to run my legs are feeling the extra weight and could use some good trigger point!
Hip, definitely. And shoulders.
My hamstrings could use some TLC
Tight, stressed shoulders.
My hip, it band and foot. Basically my whole left side!
My shoulders and upper back desperately need this from all the countless hours in aero position on my bike. My IT band needs some love too!
My whole body could use some trigger point love as I have been running, cycling and swimming. But if I had to pick one area it would be my quads. No matter what these muscles always stay tight and sore which sometimes limits my activity. And my calves. They could always use some trigger point love.
Anything that will help my tight, tight hips! I try to roll out my quads, glutes, and it band every night – can totally tell when I don’t!!!
My shoulders and upper back! After sitting at my desk all day I’ll do almost anything to get the kinks out.
I’ve been struggling with PF for almost a year! I need some Trigger Point love to my calves, hamstrings, and yes, feet!
Oh man…the foot bone’s connected to the leg bone and the leg bone’s connected to the hip bone…..
As I start to train for my next 1/2, I really want to be proactive about taking care of my IT band which tends to act up when I start to up my miles.
Piriformis, hamstrings and IT band
Oh how timely! My hips and inner knee.
My right hip area. I have had some pains down my leg and on the heel of my foot. I went to a PT/running specialist and it turns out a big part of my problem is my very tight hip. Currently learning how important home massage is to a runner!
Oh I need this! My plain foam roller does not seem to be doing the trick – I haven’t been able to run due to IT band issues since my first marathon in June (Grandma’s). It’s killing me, I’m even in PT for it. Would love to try the grid roller!
I’ve got a grumpy left hamstring that would benefit from some tough love from the Trigger Point!
My tight hammies that I can never seem to stretch good enough. And my hips, oh my hips!
My hip. Training for my first marathon and my old hip is singing a bad tune.
Hips – always the hips! But my calves always feel better after foam rolling too.
hips and IT band! I’m cursed with left leg ailments.
IT Band!!
mainly my left leg, IT band, and hips plus my right foot
My glutes!
Hips and quads!
My parts that need TriggerPoint love the most are hips, feet, and butt cave.
My lower back is screaming these days, from too many hours in the car and on the bleachers this summer (…I am a travel baseball/softball mom).
I need it everywhere. 2016 has been my first year ever of being broken after 20 years of injury free running.
Shoulders, hamstrings – I’ve never foam rolled before but just signed up for the Aug. 22 wave of HRT so I will need to start!
Ooh- my quads are so tight and my hamstrings need some attention!
my calves – I’m hoping that loosening them up will help with my PF that just popped up :(
My feet and right heel need a some TriggerPoint Therapy as the miles ramp up and I get closer to Marine Corp Marathon in October.
I am in love with foam rolling. It’s an every day thing now for me, like flossing—and I know there’s supposedly debate about flossing being worthwhile, well I’m not giving it up, nor my foam rolling. I really need a Grid Roller. I have one of their kits and love it, but I use an old traditional foam roller and it’s losing it’s oomph. My favorite is rolling my shins. :-) What that does to start the loosening is unreal.
Lately, my thighs from doing hill work and hikes. And always my shoulders and neck!
My calves for sure!
I need to roll everything!
I’ve been doing tons of hills and my glutes need it for sure. Glutes are hard to stretch – maybe rolling them is better?
My Achilles/calf area and my hips. Flexibility is not my strong point! Anything I can do to help loosen those areas up makes a difference!
Gluteus/piriformis would love to hurt so good.
I had to slow down this morning due to a tight quad, so some TriggerPoint foam rolling sounds like a dream. :)
OMG I love foam rolling but need trigger points for my hips. Must have been those two babies but my hips need alot of loving.
My glutes need some triggerpoint love.
My calves have been very tight in recent months and, of course, the hips can always use some love!
My hips, definitely my hips! They’re badass enough to birth 9 lb and 10 lb 6 oz sons (not at the same time!), plus run 4 marathons and tons of half marathons, so they deserve some love!
Probably all of my body – but mostly my hips.
Glutes, glutes, glutes. I did Dimity’s stair circuit early this week and I can STILL feel my glutes. Even after stretching.
Calves!
After sleeping on a lumpy futon while on vacation, my back and shoulders are all tight. Need to work out the kinks.
Ah, what a great question, especially after yesterday’s 6 hour road trip had my booty aching from sitting so long, and shifting the gears! That’s the area for me—my right hip and booty—that is causing some slight issues lately. After runs, and sometimes during the day when I’m thinking of it, I’ll stretch it out in the pigeon pose. Owie!!
Hips. I have TFL and need a way to focus on rolling the hips – a typical roller is too big to hit just the right spot.
Glutes/hamstrings. Am now headed to PT b/c I didn’t foam roll enough sooner. Ugh.
Definitely hips, glutes and thighs!
Glutes and shoulders, definitely glutes and shoulders!
My TFL and IT band are both needing some trigger point therapy!
My glutes and hips!
My poor right IT Band and glute definitely need more love than I have been giving them!
Everything. . .
Left quad and both IT bands.
My calves ALWAYS need trigger point therapy. In fact, even though I know I should roll out other parts of my body, the only part I consistently work on is my calves.
I am currently sidelined by injury (manifesting in my knees but probably due to hips & glutes). So I would love to focus more on my hips and my “butt cave” with the massage ball in particular!
Hips!
Definitely my calves!
My right IT band could use some extra love, as well as my hips! :)
IT band and hips need some love which would probably do wonders for my knee!
Oh, the hips! Thanks for the giveaway.
I notice my arms hold a lot of tension. When I massage them, I notice some of the muscles in my back relax.
My calves!! They are always tight!
Glutes for sure!
My rear and hammys ache for some attention. I neglect them!
My lower back/ hips definitely need some rolling.
I have been boxing for cross training since February. My core and upper body are looking great, but I could definitely use some foam rolling love on my shoulders and back. That’s not a place I am used to being sore when I all I did was run!
My hamstrings definitely need some TriggerPoint love!!
My feet are like bricks in the morning when I wake up. I would definitely use a roller to wake them up!!!
Have been battling PF for the last year or so, so my feet and hamstrings really could use some extra love.
Oh my Hammy’s!!! I also have Torturously tight calves from running.
My IT bands! Ouch!
I can keep my PF from flaring up by using a ball on my feet….if I do it regularly. But I also love rolling my back; it hasn’t been the same since having kids!
Hips and glutes. Every day.
I’d have to say quads, but between my shoulder blades is a close second.
My back! Why don’t I roll it out every day like Sarah??
My hammy’s and calfs as they are always tight. They need help. Thank you!
Hip flexors for sure!
My shoulders and Achilles tendons always need some help!! :)
My calves and glutes!
After almost 4 years of running, I have finally found my glutes… and they are SCREAMING! I could absolutely use some knobby loving for this literal pain in the a–! :)
My IT band. I injured it overtraining for a charity run I did recently and have been struggling with it ever since. It’s been the hardest recovery I’ve had for any injury. It just keeps coming back.
My glutes and calves. My current foam roller is wearing out, I would love some Trigger Point gear!
My bad ass glutes for sure!
If it’s possible to roll my feet, those need the most love. Or my back. :)
My glutes for sure – they have decided to join the party recently and oye are they tight!
My poor perpetually injured IT Band!
OMG. Every part of me. Most of all, hip flexors. And then calves. And everything else.
My calves and my back for sure!!!
My hamstring is no Bueno. Really tight. My calf on that leg too. Definitely needs some extra love. Trigger point take me away!
Because of my spinal fusion, my body requires extra TLC to keep me running. My hips and glutes need special attention.
I am standing at my desk at work rubbing my foot with the tennis ball while facilitating an online meeting. I plan t use the same tennis ball to massage my piriformis against the wall during a conference call. My entire leg from my bum to my arch are in need some trigger point love!
My poor calves!
Definitely my back from lifting kids around all day!
Definitely the glutes!
Oh my poor calves!
Tight hammies–every runner’s greatest foe!
Glutes, back and calves.
EVERYTHING!! I’ve taken my roller to swim lessons and rolled my lower back and glutes with it and I just can’t care anymore what other parents think.
Piriformis!!!! both mine AND Dolly’s!
My hips need some love and lately my lower back…too many funky beds on various vacations.
IT band for sure! And laying down, with the roller under my spine, to stretch out my stooped shoulders/chest area. Dang this desk job!
Oh would love this for my quads, hips and calves. I like the idea of waking up early to roll. Hope to make it part of my routine.
My entire body needs some TP loving, but especially my legs that get me through all of my daily errands and still perform well on runs – both training & racing!!
Ugh! Keep waking up in the night from calf cramps! Foam rolling sounds like just what I need…
My Piriformis muscles need some trigger point love!
Ooh, where to start? Right now my shoulders, hips, and IT bands could use some love.
My calves! They’re a mess.
My hamstrings are so tight lately!
At 1 month post partum and getting back into more intense training, I don’t think there is a muscle on my body that couldn’t use some love!
My hammies are needing some TLC
My hamstrings and glutes need some extra TLC. I’ve been rolling, but I definitely need something that can get deeper into my trigger points.
Is “yes” an option? Most days I feel functional yet fragile….
My right side needs love. My hip seems to have a hitch in it my upper back/shoulder area is frequently in pain, and this might even help with the cramps in my right calf that sometimes wake me up during the night.
My calves are constantly sore! They can always use a little extra TLC.
The backs of my legs…I’m getting stronger from pushing my boys in the double but my legs need some lovin’!
My calves are always yelling at me!
My lower back soooooooo needs me to show it some Trigger Point love!
Definitely my beeeeeehind!
My calves. I always roll before I run so they stay loose. Makes all the difference.
hips and back and shoulders, oh my!
I think my hip would need the most attention – after I get into the higher mileage, it starts yelling at me. Thanks for the opportunity!
I have over active lateral calf muscles and a niggling lateral hamstring from pumping up hills! And the high heels don’t help!
Most definitely stooped breastfeeding shoulders. Though once I’m cleared to run post c-sec recovery I imagine the it band will need some love.
Ah, my love-hate relationship with Trigger Point products makes me both smile and shudder. My calves are mooing in pleasure and pain as I roll. I am fortunate to have Trigger Point Grid Foam roller, but would love to be able to share some of these products with my run group.
Trigger point would greatly help my marathon training peak week aggravated hip flexors and hamstrings. They need some love!
This would help my low back and feet with recovery.
My calves are always tight- no matter how much I roll and stretch- maybe the grid will help!
What parts would I use it on? Oh my! TMI. Seriously I love my fo roller. I need something at work!!!
my hip flexor for sure, if any of this would actually help it.
My IT band always but I’d want to share with my husband (my race pacer) for his lower back.
Hips, piriformis and hamstring.
Hamstrings. Ugh, my hamstrings!!
My shins and lower back could use some of the Trigger Point medicine.
I didn’t know what IT bands were until I over trained and caused issues in both hips\knees. I learned how to train properly and using a friends foam roller I was able to recover and work through the injury. Hip, hip, horray for foam rollers!
These hips don’t lie, they need lots of love! And my calves are usually screaming at me by the end of the day.
my hips, my hips, my lovely lady hips…
I have two, all aggravated by my plantar fascitis. Lower back and IT band
My calves! I do foam roll with my GRID but I feel like they could use some extra love from the STK at the end of the day!!
My glutes mostly…namely that pesky piriformis
My calves, my poor overworked calves.
Honestly, I think my entire body could use some TriggerPoint love.
these baby making hips!
My piriformis for sure. It is just a monster from sitting. Actually, the whole back of my left side from my lower back all they way down to my calf. One big mess.
My hip flexors and calves! I have a Grid at work and I absolutely LOVE it!!!
Always my feet, hip flexors + glutes need the love!
My calves and feet- especially my right foot!
I love to roll my quads after every run! That’s my reward!
My hips, glutes, and piriformas are all in desperate need of some trigger point love!!
my hips and glutes need the attention
My shoulders/back! Holding babies, bags, and driving all day– love every minute of it!
My hamstrings are perpetually tight and my shoulders could use some love because of the hours spent at either a desk or in my car. Thanks ladies!
My calves! Trying to hold my plantar fasciitis at bay.
My legs are so beat from marathon training! Everything from my glutes to my calves is tight!
right now my stooped over shoulders and back from working on the computer all day!
My hamstrings are particularly tight and my hips can always use some help!
My left calf and right Achilles are the go-to spots. Foam rolling is definitely a love-hate thing!!
Oh, my right butt cheek aka piriformus REALLY needs some love. And my left should blade area.
My poor plantar fascia could use some foam rolling to make it feel a little less abused!!!
I was recently diagnosed with plantar facitus so this would be an awesome win for my sore foot and calf!
Definitely my shoulders and back could use the extra love!
My left side/front leg IT band could use a good roll. And always my shoulders……
Lower back! Ouch.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to use it on my IT Band it is always giving me fits. Plus a roller on my back is always a bonus!
My calves…rumor is they’re attached to my running feet
My calf muscles and hamstrings are jerks. They could use a good beatdown.
My feet and piriformis. Mostly battling pregnancy pains now and trying to keep everything in working order so I can hit the ground running this winter.
oh my hips!!! The so need some trigger point love!! then again after a long run i sometimes sit with a glass of wine and carefully folly my calves out!! Some hot dates with Mr Trigger sounds deeeeelightful!!!
My calves–my Achilles’ tendons are grouchy!
My IT and hamstrings. Geez. It’s insane right now. I ran 7 miles and taught two fitness classes Monday and I am wrecked!
If you don’t have a partner at home for a back massage (or they aren’t willing) you can get an amazing back/neck massage from a Trigger Point foam roller. Sometimes I just lay on the floor watching TV and use the foam roller as a neck rest. It has brought me SO MUCH relief from tension headaches and general tight shoulders (I carry all of my running tension in my neck and shoulders).
Hips and glutes!
Any muscle along my posterior chain – always my posterior chain
Definitely my calf muscles, Achilles and lately my glutes. Please help me!!!!!!!
My Achilles is achillin’ me!
My right hip has been plaguing me since returning to running after giving birth to my second daughter
My left hip has had tightening issues since I had my daughter 4 years ago. Some days good, some days bad.
My hips and butt! I started running a lot more this year and could definitely feel it in those areas.
My hips! I find my left hip is always tight.
My hamstrings and back! Always 2 problem areas unfortunately.
My gluts are almost always tight and sore — I should probably live on a foam roller.
My piriformis is my sore spot. I suspect my sciatic nerve runs through it because when it gets irritated, everything from there on down flares up.
My butt and upper thighs.
My IT bank from my knee all the way to my hip!
My neck and IT band
My lower back and hips could use some TLC.
I’m on week 8 of PT after knee surgery, and still several weeks from even attempting a run. My patient PT therapist is always asking “do you have (insert torture device of the moment here)”, and I almost never do :( Right now my upper back is crazy tight, along with a new annoyance in my foot. Having a few tools to work some of these problem areas would be awesome!
My hands could use a break from massaging my boyfriend, so I’d love these for him ;)
My I’m letting you know those were insane running drills IT bands…could really use some foam roll on TLC.
My hamstring & calves always need a little love.
Upper thighs and sometimes calves.
Thighs.
Definitely my lower back! I kinked it recently so some foam rolling love would be excellent.

Oh my tight hips for sure!
My hips and piriformis please!!!
My lower back – my orthotics were adjusted and I have been sore ever since. thanks!!
My hips need constant attention after dealing with a case of bursitis last year!
An injured right shoulder has me foam rolling my back and lats as I work to get it back to 100%
Always my shoulders/upper arms. That seems to be where I hold all of my tension plus on my cross training days I especially like to work my upper body and give my legs a rest.
My calves would LOVE some trigger point attention!
I’ve always kinda foam roller, but since joining the tlam heart rate half marathon challenge I am a regular roller. However, my current roller is quite worn out and doesn’t have the shape or pressure it should anymore, since j had just bought the cheapie at Tj Maxx. I’ve really felt lately like rolling my shins (thanks for the video MK!) is especially important for me and hurts so good!
Hips and glutes please
My gluteus and lower back are in need of some TriggerPoint love!
My gluten always enjoy love from foam rolling!
Calves!
My entire body is aching right now, late nights, early mornings and a bit too much summer fun! But the low back is the real problem area.
I’m pregnant, so basically everything is needing some TLC these days!

Everywhere!! Especially that ever painful IT band area…hurts so good!
My hip flexors and hamstrings! Always my hamstrings!!
Holy cow, my calves and my glutes/piriformis need some triggerpoint love!
Can I say my whole body? or upper and lower EVERYTHING!!!!!! My hubby ran his first 10k with me last weekend and we forgot to pack my shoes so I went and bought a pair of cheap shoes just to get through the race and…now I feel like my body got hit by a truck. :( But that is okay because he enjoyed it and wants to do another ;)

Ugh, my lower back…always!
My piriformis and IT Band need much attention.
My hip flexors and my quads need more TLC
This would be great.
Training for my very first half marathon. Struggling with a little bit of plantar fasciitis. This would be a welcome addition to my training.
I’ve been cranking up my trail running, and it’s made for some sore calves! I really feel those stabilizing muscles.
Oh, my poor, aching Achilles! And, low back, and hips, and…
I’ve just done my first Ironman, so pretty much everywhere needs some trigger point love! But the place that needs it most is my tfl and it band.
My hip flexors for sure and my back!!
The arches of my feet!
Thanks to my AMR 10k Own It plan my calves are needing some extra love lately!

My IT Band
Probably my IT band!
Definitely my calves!!
Piriformis! (I hope I spelled that right) Not tight or sore now, but that’s been my trouble spot lately.
IT band!
What part of my body doesn’t need Triggerpoint love! I need a whole lot of tender loving care
Middle back – oooooo does it hold stress like a mother….runner :)
My right calf and Achilles…
IT band(s!!!)

For the first time since I started running, I started strength training (Yay for Orange Theory Fitness!) and yesterday was leg day. Holy glutes! I am walking like I just ran 26.2,,
My aching feet!
It band, hip
My butt!
My I-sit-on-my-butt-all-day-at-work low back and tight hips!
Oh, TriggerPoint, my quads really need some love!
Definitely my quads. After running or running after kids!
My poor calves!
glutes and hips!
Hamstrings
This would come in handy!
Tie between back and calves!
IT band!!
Between carrying my two boys, running hills and, well… My husband… I need to roll my hips
My hips, quads, and calves are all tight! I monitor them closely to avoid the plantar pain I’ve dealt with in the past. There’s nothing like a few boughts of plantar fasciitis to make a girl serious about stretching!
Hips and IT band!!
Hip flexors
My right hip! Ouch!
I would use it for everything! Currently training for The Marine Corps Marathon and my whole body is hurting!!!!
My feet would love this!
I need the ahhhhh…long recovery from labral tears in both hips. I’m an over- achiever!
My shoulder! I need to work on my posture during the day and also when running!
My feet! My hips!
Scoliosis means that something’s always a little off-kilter but, most recently, it’s been my shoulders/ trapezius muscles-especially my right one.
I need this!
It’s a tie between my feet that just got over a long bout with plantar fasciitis and my hamstrings that have been super tight.
Hips & hamstrings
So there’s something better than a tennis ball?! Live and learn…
Awesome product!
My calves, shins, and Achilles all the way!!!! Oh and the feet! How could I forget the feet?!?!!!
This would really help my plantar fasciitis!
One part?! My entire body aches just reading about rolling. But if I must my right thigh/hamstring. It’s my trouble leg.
Definitely my calves. All my problems stem from tight calves — tight hips, achy back, creaky knees, and burning plantar fascia. My orthopedic dr suggests constant stretching and rolling. This kit would be awesome. . .
Hip flexors and shoulders…. Too much time spent hunched over computers
Everything between my rt hip and pinkie need tending to!
My lower back/glute muscles…or in HRT Land…the butt cave! :-)
My angry IT band needs this!
My calves would love this!
Definitely my butt cave!
Usually my piriformis, but lately it’s been my calves…..guess it’ll be good all the way around!
I have a literal pain in my bottom! Ok it’s really in the hips, I’ve been trying different methods of stretching but a trigger point ball would really do the trick, I think!
One word: GLUTES
After 3 days of camping, hiking, and sleeping in a tent, my entire body is in need of some loving – glutes, back, neck, hips, calves…
I would love this for IT band and calves!
FEET…always sore, makes me feel old!
Vastus medialus and pirformis!
Piriformis I think… But maybe Achilles… Or maybe hip flexors… So many options as I get older!
I get shin splints when I increase speed or mileage so foam rolling the front of my shins is a daily routine!
Totally the lower back. I know my five year old is almost to big to pick up but I can’t help myself…
My lower back upper glutes area – a chronic problem!
While I could claim my whole body, I would have to say my lower back and my quads…. Ooo and my feet. The heart rate challenge has really gotten me in touch with my body.
My calves! My 8 year old with a rolling pin just isn’t cutting it
So many parts of my body need attention, but my IT band, hip flexors and calves are the top of the list!
As I lay in bed reading this my left calf is screaming pick me pick me. Any given day it could be a calf, it band or glute. Everyday though it is the feet!
Oh man, so hard to choose since it varies and depends on so many factors…That tough to relieve psoas from running the 30 lb toddler up hills in the jogger and the stress holding muscles around my shoulder blade are probably the most common. Gone are the days of not needing to think about pre and post run!
Right this minute it is my hamstring. I’m doing MK’s foam rolling routine but still struggling with that one muscle today!
My calves. They are enormous and alway have been (genes, gymnastics, step aerobics, and running) and super tight. Hence, plantar fasciitis.
Definitely my hip flexors….every day!
Oh boy, my calves need some serious love! I’m working hard to get a sub-2 hr half PR this fall, and my speedwork has my calves screaming!
My calves and back for sure… to start with – the list is long!
Long list, but calves for sure. Plus shoulders…starting a new job can make me tense!
My hips and calves are both suggesting I say they need the most help but then I feel those tight shoulders screaming pick me.
My calves would love this!
Oooh, my quads could use some serious help! They’re like rocks after my weekly long run. My rolling pin (yes, the same one I use to roll out pie crusts) works for me, but I’d love to try some real trigger point tools.
About 4 weeks out from my marathon and my calves need some love!
I was just instructed to roll my calf to increase my range of motion with my foot. I’m sure these would help!
My IT band is flaring up on me again. I’ve read about Trigger Point and I would love to try the roller!
My shoulders could use some rolling out snd my lower back
My low back and hip area need it the most, but am sure that my calves could use it as well.
I’m having so much trouble with my achilles right now. Just when my back and hip calm down some other part flares up. Rolling out and trigger point are a godsend. Thanks for the chance to win :)
My right heel has been bothering me now since February. I am finally giving it a rest but I think I could benefit from some Trigger Point therapy
Marathon training is just starting to ramp up. My hips and quads could use a little love right now.
My piriformis and glutes need so much attention!! I have to drive fairly often for my job and that sitting position can really aggravate them! They need some trigger point loving!
I’m totally new to rolling, but I feel like my hips are in desperate need.
Wow, this looks amazing! My legs and back would love this!
I need to develop the commitment to doing foam rolling. I have a roller but it sits in a corner despite knowing how good it is for me. How to make it fit into a busy life?
I’m recovering from knee surgery, and I have a plethora of sore spots on both legs that would love some Trigger Point therapy.
My glutes have been sore since my last hard run! I can’t believe I’ve went this long without a foam roller. This would be so amazing since I’m training for my first Half!
I would love to try the foot roller for my sore feet
I had a trigger point therapy roller PP (pre-puppy). Now that we are past the puppy stage this would be amazing.
This would be amazing!
Yes please!
My calves and the bottoms of my feet! They never stop complaining!!
I’m recovering from foot and knee injury so this would be wonderful!
My hamstring
Adductors! I’m having problems with my right groin and it is such a hard area to get with a regular foam roller.
This would be amazing! My IT band is crying for this!
I had an intense body weight workout session Tuesday and my shoulders and glutes are still killin’ me. I would LOVE the trx trigger point gear to help roll out my super tight muscles.
I have a hard run tomorrow morning and would kill to have a nice roller set like triggerpoint to avoid being all tense afterwards. My legs always need a good roll out after long runs.
Oh I would love this! I’m betting it’s exactly what the dr is going to order this Friday!
Hips, Hips and Hips!
Ooooh I love to roll, my last mile is usually dreaming about rolling, rolling and more rolling.
Glutes and calves!
Definitely my IT band and my glutes…need to pay special attention to these as I continue to work on strengthening my hips.
My hips and lower back are a hot mess!
My calves and Achilles are always right and achy!
My butt needs all the trigger point I can stand. It keeps my lower back happy
What part of my body doesn’t need some TriggerPoint love? Seriously, my back, IT band and hips need it most, but foam rolling helps everywhere. I’ve ashamedly gotten out of the habit of rolling and my body knows it. The excitement of using new tools would definitely help me get back into a regular rolling routine!
My entire body needs it! But if I had to pick one spot in particular, it would be those darn IT bands.
Shoulders! I’m working on relaxing my upper body during runs, but it’s very difficult for me.
I recently ran a 36 hour relay and would have LOVED having something like this along in the van!
Achilles, calves, and feet – need to stay healthy through this marathon training cycle and it is touch and I am teetering on the edge. Need to make rolling a priority!
Quads, butt, calves, feet…basically anything below the waist needs some major love from all the recent miles!
Ankles, feet, & calves! Roll on, BAMRs!!
calves calves calves!
calves and hammies!
shoulders, for sure. They are always tight and my yoga teacher is always telling me to un-turtle because I put them up around my ears.
My quads could definitely use some rolling love!
My lower back! I spend way to much sitting at work and sitting in my car!
Rolling my tight calves, adductors, hamstrings and back is key!
My shoulder blades, thighs & calves.
IT band…calves and shins…lower back and hips.
Shoulders and neck. Too much job stress, that even my running can’t eliminate.
Hips & buns!!!
Oh lordy, lordy, a massage therapist could spend a day on me!! Perpetual knot in my shoulder (sleeping or keyboard induced I can’t figure out which), lower back – which is really my upper butt – has started barking, piriformis of the right butt cheek too boot, and then some awesomely tight achilles which manifests itself in my calves. Yeah me! Other than that, I’m great!
Am training to do the Pikes Prak Ascent next weekend. My calves often cramp up on me from the miles of steep incline. I could really use this to help keep me moving!
My thighs, calves and butt need it!
My hump, my hump, my lovely lady lumps!!
Oh man. Is it weird that just reading this I could imagine the “hurts so good” sensation of a grid roller? My glutes need some WORK.
I always seem to have a knot in my quads – specifically the lateral recrudescence femoris, near the top. My massage therapist works it out (painfully), but being able to focus just on this spot with the trigger ball every day would be wonderful!
My legs always need some love!
I have a handful of hamstrings that need some work
My calves always want some good massage!
Glutes! Always the glutes
Calves and feet to stay on top of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis.
Calves! Back! Glutes! You name it- for some reason the last month or so it all hurts! But really calves- they are in the worse shape!
My left hip, which is still angry after months of treatments.
Rolling those lateral quads and hamstrings keeps me going to run long!
Left hit and IT band! 35 weeks pregnant and it’s all hurting right now though :)
Butt! Always the butt!!
Piriformus – always the piriformus.
Calves, feet, hamstrings- all need some TLC!
Dealing with runners knee- need some help with flexibility!
The real question is what part DOESN’T need some Trigger Point love? I mean I’m sure there are a couple that don’t really qualify for that kind of attention but let’s not leave anyone out!
IT band and piriformis. Always.
Calves, glutes, hip – all of the lower body.
Between my running and cross training strength workouts, my calves are tight and feeling the need for some release.
My shoulders and upper back need some love!
My feet!!!! 14 miles today and they know it!
My IT band!! I’m coming back from a femoral stress fracture and my IT band is not quite sure what is going on anymore.
My calves. 4 weeks out from my marathon and I’m sidelined hoping to coax my calf muscles back by race day!
The bottoms of my feet!
Probably my lower back:-) Although I love an all over body treatment!
Right hip, glutes and calf! Right leg hasn’t been the same since having 2 babies 15 mos apart (even though it was 8 years ago!)
My poor quads have been neglected. They need some tough grid x love.
Hips and lower back are always wanting to be released.
My shoulders! Carrying too many babies and all their stuff!
Shoulders!
Quads, IT band, glutes
My left hip/quads/hamstrings need some roller love!
Lower body to calm restless legs.
IT Band!!
As always, my right piriformis!
My poor left hamstring that has been through the ringer with PT recently because my left quad is too strong for it to keep up with….
Hips, for sure!
I’m fighting lower back pain and a quad that keeps talking to me.
My hip flexors and glutes need some TLC!
Let me introduce you to Bertha. She’s my bursa that lives in my left hip and likes to lean on my IT band when she’s not happy. Rolling helps keep her happy, and helps keep my IT band supple so when Bertha does need to lean on my IT band, it doesn’t throw me off my running game too much.
My upper back is always feeling tight and loves some rolling (although it tends to sound like a bowl of rice krispies!).
Having never known how to properly foam roll until ~3 weeks ago, I need it all over but my calves appreciate it the most!
calves. full stop.
My feet, right hammy and glute.
Feet! Just looking at the picture of the massage ball sets off a Pavlovian reaction.
Shins and calves, always! (And it didn’t even occur to me to roll my shins until recently!)
My Achilles! Every time. Both of them:)
I’m a runner and a dancer and NEED this in my life!!!
My hips don’t lie…when I neglect stretching, foam rolling and strength training, my IT band/hip acts up. Thankfully, it reminds me to give it tlc.
Hips and glutes! And lately my feet as well.
My legs need the most attention right now! I’m returning to running after surgery and 6 months of chemotherapy.
My hips can always use a good roll session, but I’ve gotten pretty lazy about it.
My back! Spent too much time this summer in front of the computer (completing major writing project) and only now getting back into tennis (my buddy has returned from her summer travels). Tennis is hard on a core.
My right hip & glute (and sometimes my quads or calves)
My hips and feet, PF has been creeping up on me.
My quads. Been working them good and they need some lov’n.
