With about nine weeks before the USA Triathlon Long Course Aquabike Championships, Dimity (not super competitive by nature) taps into the wisdom of Coaches Jennifer Harrison and Elizabeth Waterstraat (both super competitive by nature) to help her get into a Racing mindset.
Tune in to hear the three discuss:
—How important it is to consciously engaging during any race—and especially a long endurance one;
—What Dimity can do differently in training to embrace a racing mindset (read: watching Hoarders is probably not a great idea);
—Why we often make excuses for not stepping up into a workout;
—And Coach Liz’s helpful mantra is when she flies to any race.

A really interesting podcast. It is one thing to hear about mindset in the abstract but another to hear how it is put in practice by an experienced athlete.
Having run 200+ marathons and done 8 ironmans just to compete I have wondered about really pushing myself for a specific goal. I just am not good about having people tell me what to do. So I am inspired by Dimity getting two coaches to really push herself.
I would also like to hear about her bike, since that is such a part of the mix and an expensive item.
Thanks for all the great podcasts. I was a fan since the original Runners World article.
