HNY, Tribe! We posted our Best Mother Runner Moments of 2016 the last two weeks of December, which reminded all of us that it’s been a year of challenge, hard work, and a ton of triumph. So many miles logged, so many injuries overcome, so many races completed. Here’s to an even better 2017!

And to start off on the right foot, we’re sharing a few of Jamie Lou Thome’s genius haikus. This Mother Runner posted them on the private Stride Into the Holidays Facebook group and they happen to be just perfect amount of syllables (17, to be exact) to sum up exactly how we’re feeling in a snappy five, seven, five format. We wish you “rest,” “zen,” and some “bin-GO” in your runs this year.

Rest
Brisk walk to coffee.
Much needed laughter with friend.
Deep breaths, fallen leaves.

Zen-ter
Freshly plowed zen run.
Twenty degrees— “feels like” ten.
Who’s a BADASS now??!!?

Change of Plans
Long run thwarted, but
Flexibility is key.
Treadmill while he swims.

***

Zen-ish
Brief yoga tonight,
Because long run tomorrow.
(Stretching it ALL out).

Bin-GO
Filled in some more squares
Just before the snow began!
Twenty-one BINGO!!
