AMR 12th Anniversary Virtual 12K

Over the past two years, running has grounded us individually and continued to connect us as a community.

Thankfully, we are now at a point where a celebration not only seems suitable, it seems downright necessary.

Please join us as we mark AMR’s 12th anniversary—and, more importantly, a dozen years of this amazing, supportive, inclusive, funny, wise community.

On the weekend of June 24-26, we’ll be celebrating with a virtual 12K across the country. The 12K, naturally, is designed to form-fit to your schedule and current running situation. You can race it for a PR or walk it with a friend; cover the distance in one shot or over multiple days; gather a group of local friends or make new BRFs by joining one of our organized group runs. (Sarah + Dimity will be in Missoula, Montana, for the Missoula Marathon, and they will complete a 5K on Saturday and a 7K on Sunday.)

And naturally, there’s a proper commemorative swag bag, complete with a special RUNNER RUNNER sassy tee, enamel pin (in lieu of a medal), bib, Wrightsocks socks, and other celebratory swag. Domestic customers who place their order by June 10 will, USPS willing, receive their swag bags prior to race weekend.

Because we all know running thrives on supportive communities like ours, we are donating 5% registration fees to Brave Like Gabe.

Virtual 12K

Your race, your rules.

You can race it, run it, do a run/walk combo, or walk with your neighbor.

You can run it solo, with a stroller passenger, with a BRF or three, or join one of our free group runs on June 25-26.

You can run 12K (7.4 miles) straight or slice it and dice it (2 days x 6K/3.7 miles; or 3 days x 4K/2.5 miles).

In other words, cover the distance in a way that feels best—and most celebratory—to you!

Sweet Swag Bag

Your registration includes a celebratory swag delivery, including a RUNNER RUNNER tee, a limited-edition RUNNER RUNNER enamel pin, a 12th anniversary AMR sticker, a 12th anniversary bib, a pair of Wrightsock Coolmesh II Tab socks; GU Energy Stroopwafel; and a Kate’s Real Food Bar.

Domestic customers who place their order by June 10 will, USPS willing, have their swag delivered before June 25-26, virtual 12K weekend.

We’ve got a  of amazing women across the country hosting casual free group anniversary runs. (All levels of runners/walkers are welcome.) Check out the list of 12th Anniversary Group Run locations, and RSVP if you can join one.

RUNNER RUNNER Tee

This limited-edition tee is a slightly stretchy cotton/polyester blend fabric that feels delightful and won’t shrink in the laundry. It’s cut long through the body, hitting below the hip for a flattering fit. It follows the contours of the body without being clingy. RUNNER RUNNER Enamel Pin

We had this small (34mm x 16.4mm), metal-and-enamel pin custom made just for 12K participants. It looks cheerful and sporty on a hat, tote bag, or jean jacket. Rainbow colors are separated by metal with metal RUNNER RUNNER wording. Two rubber pin backings.

FAQ

The official AMR 12th Anniversary Weekend is Friday, June 24-Sunday, June 26.

You can run, run/walk, or walk your 12K however you’d like over that weekend. You can cover 12K (7.4 miles) straight or split it into 2 days (2 x 6K/3.7 miles) or 3 days (3 x 4K/2.5 miles).

If your schedule is booked that weekend but you still want to participate, no worries! Celebrate your 12K at your convenience, and use #AMR12for12 on social media so we can congratulate you!

If you live in the U.S. and order by June 10—and USPS is running fairly smoothly—then we anticipate you having your swag bag by June 24. (We can’t guarantee it, though, due to irregularities in USPS.)

Canadians: We’d love to celebrate with you, but are fairly certain your swag bags won’t arrive by race weekend. We can send a PDF of the bib via email prior to race day and your swag will be an after-event treat. If that’s cool with you, please join us!

Nope! It’s just a fun celebration weekend. You can slice and dice your 12K any way you’d like, though, so if covering a straight 12K feels like too much right now, you can split the distance up over two or three days.

We are not asking you to time—or closely measure distance—in your 12K. We ARE asking you to enjoy the run and share some of your celebratory pics with us: Use #AMR12for12 on social media so we can congratulate you!

Not seeing your location? If you want to host one yourself, we’d love it! Please sign up here by June 15 to host.

Hosting duties are very simple: pick a central, easy meeting spot; plan a 6K (3.7 miles) or 12K (7.4 miles) route; then show up and run. (And hopefully take some pictures throughout!) Runners are responsible for their own water, fuel, sunscreen, etc., so you just need to bring your enthusiasm + smile!

Nope. Please show up and enjoy running with the AMR community whether or not you register for the 12K.

If you opt not to register but own other AMR gear, please wear it.
