While we love a good scroll through a review section both for entertainment and should-I-buy details, we also know the absolute best recommendations for clothing, TV shows, desserts, books, and the like usually come from friends.

Welcome to Our Favorite Things.

As Mother Nature brings out her white and windy wardrobe, we’re sharing our favorite winter running gear that keeps us toasty during the chilly miles.

TRACKSMITH BRIGHTON BASE LAYER

Ahhh thankfully central/eastern NC winters are pretty mild, so I usually just need a long sleeve! It’s thin and easy to move in but also super warm and NOT itchy, which is amazing since I have sensitive skin and wool usually irritates me.

CRAFT ADV ESSENCE WARM JACKET

It’s the perfect weight for layering: thin, and lightweight, but keeps you nice and warm and toasty, without feeling overheated. I’ve worn it with just a base layer on a typical New England winter day, and on really frigid days, with an insulated long-sleeve running shirt, and it performs well in both conditions.

SAUCONY MITTENS

As someone who suffers from Raynauds Syndrome, these gloves are lifesavers in the winter. They keep my fingers nice and toasty and if it is super cold, I can easily add a handwarmer in each mitten to ensure no frozen digits.

YAKTRAX

In the Midwest, the roads are typically slippery and icy in the winter. I wear the YakTraxs for a level of comfort to ensure my stability and safety as I run through the winter.

BUFF BAND
I love that it can cover my ears, but I can push it up as I get warm to turn it into a head band. I also like that I can use it to cover my mouth when the air is super cold.
