In-Person Events
Hike Like a Mother: Delaware Valley
Event Date: June 15, 2024
Event location: Mammoth March, Delaware Valley, NE Maryland
Training dates: 20 weeks
What: A great day with AMR teammates for a 20-mile hike. We’ll train virtually in our own backyards using the Epic Hike program, and then, on June 15, we’ll meet in person to hike 20 miles as part of the Mammoth March event. Led by Coach Dimity, this training program will include virtual team meetings and an exclusive long-sleeve Hike Like a Mother shirt.
Better Together
Race date: November 16, 2024
Race location: Richmond Marathon, Richmond, VA
Opens for Registration: May 20
Training dates: 8K: August 26-November 16 (12 weeks); Half Marathon: August 5-November 16 (15 weeks); Marathon: July 15-November 16 (18 weeks)
What: A team effort in Richmond! Whether you’re running the 8K, Half Marathon, or Marathon, you’ll be surrounded by AMR teammates and plenty of support. We’ll train virtually under the guidance of coaches Jess + Amy, and then, on November 16, we’ll gather in Richmond to run the distance of your choice. During training, we’ll connect runners in the same category (running first marathon, going for a PR in the half, run/walkers in the half, etc.). This training program will include virtual team meetings, as well as sessions with a sport nutritionist.
AMR Retreat: Lake Placid
Event Date: September 6-9, 2024
Event location: High Peaks Resort, Lake Placid, NY
What: Nestled in majestic Adirondack Park, the steeped-in-Olympic-lore village of Lake Placid is our place to convene in late summer. Lake Placid has a charming, walkable downtown—where our retreat host hotel is located—yet you’re never far from nature. Whether you want to learn running guidance and advice from experts; run and/or hike; swim in or paddle on Mirror Lake; enjoy a yoga session or two; be part of a podcast recording; croon karaoke at the farewell celebration; or befriend other women runners, you will be delighted by the extended-weekend offerings.
Podcast Recording Parties
Dates: TBA
Party locations: Chicagoland, Berkeley, possibly Boston, and other cities TBD
What: Sarah is breaking out of her basement recording studio to record several podcasts in front of a live audience. These free parties will include nibbles, adult beverages, stocked swag bags, and the recording of an episode of Another Mother Runner podcast. Dates and locations are still being formulated, yet these are not-to-be-missed fun events!

Virtual Programs
Go the Distance
Go the Distance weekend: April 21-22*
What: A weekend of challenging yourself with an endurance activity of your choice. You choose the activity (run, run/walk, walk, hike, bike, swim, etc.); the distance (any length you can complete in <1 hour); and the duration (6, 12, or 24 hours). You start one round of the activity at the top of every hour. For example, you could bike 8 miles every hour for 6 hours, completing 48 miles total. Or you could run/walk 2.5 miles every hour for 12 miles, completing 30 miles total.
*Dates can be flexible if that weekend is not available in your schedule.

Fall into Fitness
Dates: September 9-October 20, 2024
What: Every workout in this six-week virtual program integrates the three key pieces of complete fitness: cardio, strength, and mobility. Some days focus on a run (or walk or other cardio workout), chased with a strength “snack.” Others prioritize strength, and finish with a cardio “snack.” We’ll being each session with mobility move to get your body functioning properly.
We’ll have plenty of fun along the way, of course, with contests and random challenges to keep the momentum rolling.

Nutrition Programs
Many Nutritious Miles
What: A three-block program, led by sports nutritionist Jenn Giles, RD-N, CSSD, that focuses on a different realm of nutrition. You can register for one block at a time, or join all three at a discount.
- Macro Basics: Protein; Fat; Carbs; Fiber + Nutrients
- Sports Nutrition: Fueling; Hydration; Pre-Race + Recovery Nutrition; Supplements
- Active Lifestyle: Weight Management; Easy Meal Planning; Eating on the Road; Stress Management
Each eight-week block includes: comprehensive materials for each of the four topics; an introduction video from Jenn for each topic; 12-16 recipes applicable to the block; interactive elements for real-life application; a private Facebook group; and two live calls with Jenn to get your individual questions answered in person.
