The brains behind Simply Nourished Like a Mother is Ellie Kempton, MSN, RD, a former collegiate swimmer who found her calling in the pool. Her diet was motivated purely by speed and ease; she ate foods that could be prepared quickly to optimize free time and to fuel faster swiming—or so she thought.

When her “fast” foods only made her slower and eventually very sick, her paradigm shifted. After a diagnosis of autoimmunity, but before completely giving up, she found her elixir: real food. It transformed her performance, health and life.

Since then, she’s become real food’s marketing agent. After all, real food offers transformative health benefits. With a practice based in Denver, she’s thrilled to make nutrition simple and accessible for everyone across the country and around the world.

This eight-week program is structured like this:
• Every two weeks, we have a different focus with easily accessible, simple tips to help you integrate optimal nutrition.

• The printed materials include guidelines + facts; shopping lists (both the regular and the in-a-pinch variety); numerous food formulas + recipes; worksheets to help you integrate the lessons; and a weekly journal. At the end of the program, you will have a binder full of goodness: information and recipes you’ll rely on over and over for years.

• The prerecorded podcasts, between 45-60 minutes long, goes over each macronutrient detail in depth.

• On the private Facebook page, you’ll share tips and recipes that are working—or not working—for you, creating group momentum and a Simply Nourished team that will help you stay accountable and motivated.

• Weekly, we host a Q+A session on the private Facebook page. If you can’t make it—or aren’t a Facebooker—don’t worry. We also turn it into a podcast, so you can listen at your leisure (and as many times as you’d like!).

• During week eight, we’ll host a wrap-up webinar to review materials, talk about next steps, and allow you to connect with Ellie one-on-one.

• Finally, each week there is a “Go the Extra Mile” task, which opens up and explains a helpful aspect of nutrition like probiotics and collagen.

Likely. While we are going to focus on the unique protocol that Ellie shares with all her clients, we have the time and resources to do a deep dive into each area (vegetables, carbs, protein, fats). In addition, the group situation will elicit questions, situations, and recipes that may enhance your experience. Simply Nourished Like a Mother is not a specific weight-loss program; the focus is learning and integrating nutritional habits that will help you stabilize your energy, improve your digestion, and enhance your athletic performance. Doing those things will also help  you optimize your weight.

Is it very possible that you will lose weight as you implement the tools and tips from SNLAM? Yes. Will the program be a failure if you don’t lose weight? We certainly don’t think so, as you’ll have nutritional strategies that will serve you and your family for years to come.

Because SNLAM is thoughtfully structured, you’ll be able to follow the program on your own. All the materials should be printed out and kept in a binder, and the exclusive podcasts are able to be downloaded and listened to at your leisure. So even if you fall a week behind, you can catch your breath and then jump back in when you’re ready for the next week’s materials.

We will be unable to issue refunds or do-overs for Simply Nourished Like a Mother, but if you miss a week or podcast, we can definitely help you get those so you have a whole binder—and brain— full of goodness to rely on for years to come!
